Are your wheels’ aligned properly?

DSC_6078Wheel alignment is not probably one of the first things that you will want to think about when it comes to servicing your car. However, wheel alignment affects your ability to enjoy driving to the max as you will have to concentrate on adjusting to the pull. If your wheels have not been aligned recently, you can expect the car might not move in a straight line and it pulls you to the side.

If you notice your car does not move in a straight line it can be a bit scary but don’t panic as it is most likely something simple like wheel alignment or too much or too little air pressure. The old-fashioned method of ‘tracking’ where only the front two wheels are aligned was fine before technology advanced, but today you need to have your wheel alignment done properly and professionally.

Four wheel alignment is miles better than tracking because the former type of alignment takes into consideration the changes in how steering and suspension work in modern cars. Four wheel alignment will look at least 12 angles and contrast them with information from the manufacturer of the car. Adjustments are then made to ensure that the wheels are in the same position compared to when they left the factory. Wheel alignment is critical if you want optimal performance while driving your car.

At Diamond Alloys, we offer wheel alignment for FREE when you book a set of 4 wheel for refurbishment with us. Give us a call on 0845 370 8881 now!

Great personality, patience, understanding, efficient, quick response.

We often get asked is we provide a mobile service? We generally advise customers that we do not provide a mobile patching service. You cannot get a Diamond Cut repair done by a mobile service so you need to bring it into a specialist alloy wheel refurbishment centre like Diamond Alloys. For a painted finish we also advise the whole wheel is refurbished as this will give a better finish and a longer lasting result.

Customers also ask do we repair cracks and buckles? Yes we do! Prices start fromt £60 + VAT for a buckle and £65 + VAT for a crack repair.

7. Which is the most popular service customers ask about?

Diamond cut is the most popular, we are specialists at this and have our own lathe on site.

8. What extras can customers look for at Diamond Alloys that competitors don’t offer?

We offer a great service which includes parking, tyre fitting with balance – all at no extra cost.

9. How does it help to work closely with the technicians?

It helps a lot as we can always go to them with any questions we may have about wheels. I have learnt a lot since I’ve been here and this knowledge helps me talk to customers with confidence and ensures they get the finish they want.

10. What’s the workshop atmosphere like?

Overall it is a great place to work with great people.

11. What motivates you to do a good job?

My kids motivate me from the moment I get up in morning and throughout the day.

What you need to know about winter tyres

IMG_0134-2Winter tyres are a legal requirement in some European countries yet at the same time. However, we recommend you don’t use them during the summer because they are designed specifically for the challenging winter roads. They are made from a rubber compound that features silica and their tread pattern is meant to be flexible when it is cold. This flexibility gives the tyres the power to brake well and have good traction at the same time. The UK is one of the only countries in Europe where winter tyres are not compulsory, partly because some parts of the country don’t experience harsh winter weather and it is not cost effective at the moment to roll out winter tyres across the country. However, with snow and extreme weather always a threat you may wish to consider winter tyres for your car.

Should I consider getting winter tyres?
This might depend on your lifestyle, it could just make good sense as the season changes and of course can depend on your location. For example, if you live in a secluded area, harsh winter weather can take a toll on your car especially if it takes a long time to reach a mechanic, so it might be good to be well prepared for the worst road conditions.

Another benefit of buying winter tyres is if you rely on usuin your car a lot for work or for transporting your family and don’t have alternative transportation options. It will give you peace of mind that you can be safe with winter tyres. You don’t want to put your summer tyres through endless stress so choosing winter tyres could alse be cost effective.

One of the things to remember about winter tyres is they have to be fitted in sets of four. You can’t fit only one because that will impact on the stability of the car itself. If you want to compromise, you could get all season tyres. These tyres have a high amount of silica which is good for the low temperature however you should remember they are still not as good as the top specialist tyres in the market, so choose what is best for your own needs.

Do I have to tell my insurer?
Usually, you don’t need to tell your insurer that you are planning to use winter tyres but you should be aware that you will need to go at lower speeds because the speed index will be lower. When you get winter tyres, you should also have two sets of summer tyres as well so that you can keep with the European guidelines that everyone follows.

Black & Gold Lamborghini

Lustrous and gilded – these are two words that can define this stunning Black and Gold colour combination; take a look in closer detail. Let’s face it, the Lamborghini Aventador is basically fool proof when it comes to stunning looks and breathtaking design, even without a lot of modifications. SR Auto Group got their hands on this Aventador and fitted PUR 2WO RS monoblock alloys.

These alloys are staggered with 20”/21” inches in the front and rear. They are finished in Monaco Gold which provides a bold contrast against the glossy black exterior of the cars bodywork. Sometimes, it is the small details that can make something big look even better. This gold styling does just that for this Raging Bull.

As we have seen a lot recently in our own alloy wheel repair centre, Gold is definitely on trend and have an attractive appeal, If you want to give your car some glam with a gold finish, call us on 0845 370 8881 now!

Anthracite PURs on a Lamborghini Murcielago

Whenever PUR wheels are fitted onto a supercar, they always make the car look extra special. This Lamborghini Murcielago in Grigio was given the PUR treatment.

The specialist put staggered 19”/20” alloys in the front and rear finished in anthracite. The alloys are 8IGHT design monoblock alloys with 5-spoke design. There is a reduction to the weight of the cars because the alloys are lightweight. The brakes of the Murcielago pop from the exterior alongside the alloys. With strong brakes and definite alloys, this Grigio Murcielago makes its mark. With PUR wheels, you can never really go wrong and that’s clearly what this owner thinks too.

We really like the anthracite finish on these alloy wheels and you can get this kind of look with a bespoke finish. Give us a call on 0845 370 8881 and we will be happy to advise what we can do for your alloy wheels.
